Polaris Films Program on North Shore Trails
Bill Sherck and Ron Schara Productions visited the North Shore this past week. They were in the area filming with locals Leroy Teschendorf, Rick Goutermont, Tom Cooper and Matt Huddleston.
The production company was hired by Polaris to create a 1-hour television show on the North Shore's ATV trail system and what it has to offer. Ron Schara Productions works with familiar TV channels/programs like Monsterquest, Destination Polaris, Legends of the Rod and Reel, Fox, ESPN, Minnesota Bound, Do North Outdoors, etc.
Based out of Wildhurst in Finland, the group spent Monday with the DNR Fisheries stocking some un-named lakes in the area, Tuesday they joined forces on the ATV trails, and Wednesday and on they hooked up to their boats and spent the days fishing and camping in the northwoods. All along they had been filming and interviewing for the program.
Bill Sherck chose the area because he had been here years ago when the trails were first being created and wanted to come back and film where he knew ATV'ers were welcomed and the trails were amazing. He called Leroy at Wildhurst and asked if the trails were ready. Leroy, of course, respond with a big YES.
The crew has since headed back to the Twin Cities to start putting together their program. The program will be released in a 5 state area first (including Minnesota), then will be released nationwide.
This is a huge promotional offer for the area and its ATV trails. Lake County has been working on creating an ATV multi-use trail that will connect Silver Bay and area trails to Two Harbor's trail system. It is currently in the works and will hopefully be ready for use by this Fall.
The show airs Monday night, Sept. 6th at 8:30 on the Outdoor Channel (Polaris Destinations)
